2020 LOVE

Hi guyyyyyssssss!

I’m back and I’m better! lol This is my first post of 2020 and I’m honestly so excited for this year. Although it’s been incredibly busy and stressful at work during these first few weeks and I’m so tired I can barely type, I’m still looking forward to witnessing how 2020 unfurls. Sidenote: “unfurl” is such an ugly word. Ew lol. Anyway, I’m still behind on writing out my 2020 goals (see: INSANELY busy at work with no downtime) but I promise I’ll share a few of them once I have them mapped out. Today’s post is really just to express my gratitude for the opportunities that have already fallen in my lap this year. Things are looking up, folks! And I plan to use this momentum to catapult me to a new dimension this year. I realize that sounds incredibly ambitious and lofty but I’m serious. I’m praying BIGGER this year. I’m reaching for the stars in every aspect of my life. I want BIG career progression, MAJOR success with the blog/my brand and SHOWSTOPPING love this year. I read something recently that compelled me to stop playing so small and start praying for the things that scare me. I want to start speaking life into my dreams and stop worrying about if I sound dumb or crazy or whatever. Who cares? As I continue to tell myself and my friends, you only get this one life. There’s no second chance. Either you’re going to do it (whatever “it” is) now or never.

So, I implore you to start asking for the things you really want this year. Stop second-guessing your talents and gifts and start demanding that people give you what you’re worth. I have a really bad habit of worrying so much about what people think of me. And honestly, it’s very easy to get stuck in that cycle comparing yourself to your peers and various celebs on social media. But, I want to work with my therapist (and my God! Hallelu!) to get out of that mindset. People are going to think what they think. They might hate, they might congratulate…but either way, you need to do what’s best for you. If you won’t be your own champion, how on earth can you expect someone else to do it?

I think dealing with such lows in 2019 made me realize that it’s only up from here. So, that’s what I’ll be doing — or trying to do — all year. Looking up. ;)

And since I’m behind on posts already, the look featured here is from my fun NYE night out with my girls. We started the night at Empellon Midtown for dinner and a champagne toast. {{I highly recommend the crab nachos and the spicy margaritas.}} Then, we headed to the Ace Hotel for a big party in the lobby. I know that sounds weird but it was dope! It was packed and the music was hittin’ right and the people were dressed up and looking good. I really enjoyed the night even though I didn’t have high hopes for it at all. NYE is normally a bit of a letdown but this one was awesome. I hope you’re enjoying the year so far and spending time relaxing, recharging and getting geared up for great times ahead. Love ya, mean it. Thanks for reading as always. xoxoxo - Ashley
